Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). The video associated with the part was easy to understand. The actual repair was easy - maybe 10 minutes. But getting the top casing of the washer fitted back over the base was a huge pain. That took 8 tries to finally get it locked in just right. The washer is 20+ years old though.
The parts were all exactly correct and fit perfectly. Shipping time was excellent. Parts arrived in about 2 days with "standard" shipping.

The cylinder roller that supports the dryer drum was worn and needed to be replaced. I ordered the idler pulley shaft and associated parts as well since I wasn't sure if these were worn too.
Watching the video on the web site gave me a good idea what was involved and where to look. It wasn't my exact model and make but provided sufficient information on what to look for. The parts were exact fits which was a great relief abd the dryer is running like new again!
