This slotted foam plug seals a small access opening in the refrigerator cabinet to help maintain insulation and reduce air and moisture infiltration. It's a simple replacement that restores a tighter cabinet seal and helps the appliance run more efficiently. What it does:
- Blocks service or wiring access holes to help prevent warm air entering the cabinet
- Helps maintain insulation at a penetration point to reduce frost and condensation
- Cushions and stabilizes wiring or tubing routed through the opening
- Reduces noise and vibration where parts pass through the cabinet
What's included: One slotted foam plug Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing the appliance to avoid shock
- Remove the relevant access panel or trim to reach the opening, then press the plug into the hole until seated
- Trim excess foam only if explicitly required for fit; avoid using solvents or adhesives unless specified by OEM
- Replace the plug if torn, compressed, or degraded to maintain proper sealing

The Evaporator Fan Motor Kit is an OEM part compatible with GE refrigerators. It is a critical component responsible for circulating air and maintaining proper airflow within the refrigerator's evaporator system, ensuring efficient cooling and temperature regulation. It features a shaft that measures 3/8 of an inch and two right-side terminals. Notably, the motor no longer comes with harness wires, which must be obtained separately for installation.
Symptoms of a faulty evaporator fan motor include:
- Inconsistent or inadequate cooling in the refrigerator or freezer compartments
- Warm spots or temperature fluctuations within the refrigerator
- Excessive frost buildup or ice accumulation in the freezer
Causes of a bad evaporator fan motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical issues or short circuits, or physical damage from foreign objects or improper maintenance.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore refrigerator models.

The refrigerator would not cool nor freeze! Tom C. • Kenmore , WA • October 31, 2015
I called AppliancePartsPros.com and they helped me diagnose the problem for this very nice, and well designed refrigerator, that I wanted to keep rather than recycle at the local scrap yard. It turns out that all it needed was a small electric fan (i.e., evaporator fan) to circulate the air from the freezer coils throughout the refrigerator [all other major components were good]. It was really easy to locate the motor and fan and replace it. I saved hundreds of $$$. I really appreciated the...
