The Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar is an OEM part for LG dryers. It plays a critical role in detecting the moisture level of clothes during the drying cycle, enabling the dryer to adjust the drying time automatically. This ensures efficient operation, preventing over-drying, which can damage fabrics and increase energy consumption.
Symptoms of a bad Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar include:
- Clothes remaining damp after a complete drying cycle
- The dryer continually running without stopping
- Inconsistent drying results, with some clothes over-dried and others still wet
Causes of a bad moisture sensor bar can stem from a buildup of lint and fabric softener residue, which insulates the sensor and impairs its ability to accurately detect moisture. Additionally, wear and tear or damage from loading and unloading can affect its functionality.
Regular cleaning and maintenance are recommended to ensure that your LG dryer operates efficiently and preserves the life of your clothes.

It wouldn't heat James C. • Mooresville , NC • June 29, 2019
After I cleaned out the typical 1.5 pounds of lint from the vent, ( I do it every 2 months), I went searching for a solution. I found 6 possible causes on this site and purchased everything except a new burner; I wasn't going to go that far. Let the fun begin. Since my vacuum was still nearby, I thought I was ready for anything. Wrong. After I watched all the videos again for reassurance, I went in with screwdriver in hand and laptop nearby. I removed the top and looked inside. Don't be fooled,...

The Lint Filter is an OEM part for LG dryers. It serves a critical function in trapping lint and debris from clothes during the drying process. Located in the door or top of the dryer, depending on the model, this filter ensures efficient airflow and heat distribution by preventing lint from clogging the dryer vent.
These issues typically arise from normal wear and tear or from not regularly cleaning the filter, which can cause it to become brittle or damaged over time.
Symptoms of a bad Lint Filter include:
- Reduced drying efficiency, leading to longer drying times
- Excessive lint or debris escaping into the dryer vent, which can pose a fire risk
- Visible wear or damage to the filter, such as tears or holes, which can allow lint to pass through
This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Symptoms of a bad Dryer Thermistor include:
- Clothes not drying properly or taking longer than usual to dry.
- The dryer repeatedly stopping during a cycle.
- Error messages appearing on the dryer's display panel.
- The dryer getting too hot or not heating enough.
Causes of a bad Dryer Thermistor can include a buildup of lint and debris affecting its ability to accurately sense temperature, wear and tear over time, or electrical issues within the dryer's circuitry.
This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

This essential component ensures your dryer operates smoothly, providing the necessary torque for consistent and efficient drying performance.
Causes of failure might include wear and tear from prolonged use, overload from trying to dry heavy loads, electrical issues like short circuits, or physical damage to the motor components.
Symptoms of a bad Drum Motor Assembly include:
- The dryer drum fails to turn, even though the dryer powers on.
- Unusual noises, such as humming or buzzing, indicating the motor is struggling.
- The dryer stops unexpectedly during cycles or won't start at all.
- Decreased drying efficiency or clothes taking longer to dry due to inconsistent drum speed.
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.
