Ted July 09, 2020 for Model Number NGM5054UC/01 I have a Bosch NGM5054UC/01 Cooktop. I am attempting to replace the front burner base. There is a large nut in the middle which I was told is the Venturi tube for the gas. Although I was told by you folks to just put a wrench on it, it will not come off. I'm not really putting my weight into it, I'm afraid of breaking something. Am I doing something wrong or going about this the wrong way?
1 Answer Ted, the venturi tube can become seized. When this occurs, the easiest way to get it loosened would be to ignite the burner and let it heat for 2 minutes. Once it has heated, the gas would need to be turned off and the inside of the venturi tube cooled with a damp cloth. This will allow the base to still be expanded from heat while the venturi tube retracts from being cooled down. Using gloves would be recommended while performing this procedure. Read More...
