Van August 08, 2023 for Model Number PRSE486GDS The bake element looks good and I get a resistance reading on the element but it will not work. I am wondering if there is a thermostat that would have blown keeping the power from the element?
1 Answer Van, This would be more likely a faulty control but you will want to test to see if there is 240 Vac getting to the element. If not then the control will be the issue. Read More...
Lsu August 08, 2023 for Model Number PRSE364GDS The terminal connectors on my element are burning off what would cause this and how do I fix the problem?
1 Answer LSU, The terminal connectors would most likely have been loose and would cause this situation to occur. You can get 1/4" hi temp connectors and replace them. Read More...
1 Answer GA, It appears that the element would be accessed by opening the oven door and removing the racks. Read More...
Todd N. November 12, 2014 for Model Number thermador prse366s dual fuel Do you have the push button switches for the bake oven and does the convection button & the normal bake button work off the same relay? What should the load amps be on the oven element? Is it normal to have a 15° differential from the set point to the actual cabinet temperature? Thermador tech support has been difficult to get tech questions answered. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Todd, Take the wattage of the element and divide it by the voltage applied, (240Vac in this case). This will give you the approximate current flow, (amperage) of the circuit. Note this will be approximate because of practical application considerations such as variations in applied voltage, varying resistance of the element and so on. The temperature in an oven compartment is determined by taking an average reading. This is done by recording the high and low temperatures for at least four cycles of the thermostat. This is time consuming but the only way to determine the average bake compartment temperature. When you have recorded the readings you should have four high readings and four low ones. Add these together and divide by 8 for the average temperature. Note that if the door is opened during the test it will have to be started over for an accurate reading. Note that a high "swing" in temperatures is to be expected especially early in the cycle. I did some searching and I'm sorry but it looks like the button switches you are looking for have been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided.
