Restore fast, even convection cooking with this rear convection heating element. It supplies a ring of heat around the fan at the back of the oven so temperatures rise and hold properly in convection bake and roast modes.

  • Provides heat around the convection fan for uniform air circulation and even results
  • Common symptoms: no heat or very slow preheat in convection modes
  • Fan runs but temperature does not rise in convection
  • Visible damage or a break in the element
What's included: One convection heating element. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance; allow the oven to cool completely.
  • Remove racks; access and remove the element's mounting screws from inside the oven (procedure varies by model).
  • Pull the element forward carefully; label and transfer wires one at a time so they don't slip back into the cavity.
  • Reuse existing hardware; ensure terminals are tight, reassemble, and test a convection cycle.

Hello Laura, thank you for contacting APP, I wasn't able to find anything under SC301PT, but from the wiring diagrams for SC301T, I would suspect that either the Main Control/Relay Board for that oven has a failed bake relay or a damaged wire between the bake relay and the bake element.

Larry, With no power applied, remove the wires from the terminals of the convection bake element. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale. Touch the ohmmeter leads to the convection bake element terminals. The meter should indicate 18 ohms. If the reading is not correct, remove and replace the convection bake element. If these tests pass then the relay board could possibly be the issue.
