When I pulled it out I separated where the two ends of the filter join and can't get it to close with a seal at the joint. If it is not OK to run it without the filter operating properly I will wait until the replacement arrives.

Marilyn M. August 04, 2012 for Model Number shu5315 -12 I took out the cylinder shaped micro filter basket assembly to check it and now I cant get it back in. It looks as if you are to line up the triangle icon on the assembly to the icon on the "deck" and then turn clockwise. However, it does not seem to lock into place. Should I be pressing it down hard?
1 Answer Hello Marilyn, The arrows have to be lined up when you stop turning it. Drop it into the hole and gently turn it until it drops down a bit. Then turn it far enough to line the arrows up. I guess I should mention, this assembly will actually come apart. If it is partially apart, it may need a slight adjustment to allow it to drop in all of the way so you can lock it into position.
