Conrad March 26, 2018 I have a Thermador HT48HQS vent hood - have pestered everybody I can find for a new fan control switch - Thermador does not supply them anymore - TriVar has not manufactured them since 2008 - nobody I can find has any remaining stock and just says "good luck elseware". My question: will a different type or style switch work here - if not can I just swap out the vent fan (located on my roof) with a different unit and install a matching switch to work with the new fan and resolve the problem?
1 Answer Hello Conrad. Sorry, this part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. We do not know of a way of modifying the unit. Sorry. Read More...

Jim March 28, 2013 for Model Number Thermador H48HQS When I turn the hood on, it runs at full speed, when I adjust the speed control it slows down, but not much, it is still running really fast. Do I need a new solid state fan speed control switch?
1 Answer Hello Jim. It sounds like the switch is not working properly to slow down the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
