This oven temperature probe is the internal sensor that monitors cooking cavity temperature so the oven control can regulate heat for accurate cooking and bake results. It's a direct-replacement sensing probe for compatible Bosch ovens. What it does:

  • Measures internal oven temperature and sends readings to the control board
  • Allows the oven to maintain set temperatures for consistent cooking
  • Common symptoms of a failing probe: inaccurate oven temps, oven not reaching set temperature, or temperature-related error codes
  • Works with the oven's control system to help cycle heating elements or gas valve
What's included: One temperature probe (sensor) — wire and connector as shown in OEM diagram. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock hazard
  • Handle the probe and its wiring gently; avoid sharp bends or pulling on connectors
  • Verify connector orientation and secure connections to the control board per OEM diagram

Questions & Answers

For Bosch Oven Temperature Probe (Internal Sensor), 1 Count (Part Number: OEM8402559)

1 Answer

The probe should have been included with the range. Not all the models can use the probe function according to the owner's manual. You should contact Bosch to see if your model is compatible and for a part number of the probe as they do not list it with this model.

Peterd for Model Number EB294-630

The temperature probe on my Gaggenau oven is misbehaving. It doesn't start registering a temperature until the roast is significantly above the refrigerator temperature, and then when it does the temperature read back is much lower than actual (e.g., it was showing 88 degrees when a manual thermometer registered 120 degrees). Will replacing the probe fix the issue, or is this likely to be a problem with some other component of the oven? Thanks

1 Answer

Peter, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty probe that would need replaced.

Hello Hal, I'm sorry but this is listed as an accessory to the appliance. Unfortunately, these are categorized as dealership items and, while we may have the part available, we are not able to pull up the correct part by model number. If you can check with an authorized dealership and get the correct part number, we can check its' availability. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
