Hello Francis, the switch would be accessed from the underside of the hood, there should be a panel there that once removed will allow access to the switch.

Xavier for Model Number 23352145590

Hi, I bought a motor (s97010736) to replace a motor that seemed defective in our range hood (kenmore) back in May (order# 5490905). I replaced the motor and the hood worked but with significantly less potency than when we bought the hood. I called, talked to someone that promise to call back with help, but did not call back. Since I installed the motor it has steadily lost power and is not clearing fumes when cooking. It is not powerful enough to open the flaps that allow the fumes to exit the house. Also, I barely notice an increase in power when sliding the switch to the most right. Could the sliding switch (potentiometer?) be defective? The light do work. Please advise, Xavier

Xavier, It sounds like you either have received a faulty motor or you have a bad fan switch S97007159. Unfortunately we do not have any technical information to be able to assist properly but would appear to be one of the 2 items that is no good.

Ray, Unfortunately we do not have wiring diagrams for this unit and would not be able to tell which terminal is for each setting. If you can locate the COM terminal then test from it to each of the others in sequence of low to high and if there is continuity on the terminals of one of them to common in each setting then the part would be good.

Chuck, There is a panel on the underside of the vent hood that you would need to remove in order to access the switch. Once the panel is removed the switch should be accessible.

Hello Chris, Unfortunately, this is one of those Kenmore units that Sears has hidden all of the service information from the public so we are unable to pull information on it. It is usually accessed by removing the internal covers located up inside the hood assembly. This is basically the only way to access the part.

Robert Or Carol for Model Number Kanmore Range Hood Model 233052345590

I need to replace the "light switch" on my Kenmore range hood model # 233-52345590; is this the proper switch or switch assembly? My range hood has two (2) plastic slide switches; the top one is for the fan and the bottom is for the hood light. I need to know whether or not this switch assembly part number (AP3259951) is for both fan and light or just the fan or just the light. It is the light switch that is broken. Thanks, Bob

1 Answer

Hello Robert and Carol! Yes, the switch assembly S97011801 is the correct manufacturer replacement part used on your model 233.52345590. This switch is used for both the fan and the light switch. Thanks!
