Fran September 04, 2017 for Model Number 790.9744 You call this part a clock/timer. We are looking for the electronic oven control panel for Kenmore 790.9744. Is this part what we are looking for?
1 Answer Hello Fran, The model number provided is only a partial model number. Since there are 5 models that start with the number provided, we cannot say for sure that the clock/timer 316462878 is correct for the model in your home. It is the control board for the unit though. I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to post a new question including the Complete model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can recommend parts that can be guaranteed to work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Denny M January 09, 2017 for Model Number 790.9270 My oven temperature rises real slow.Is my control board need replaced?
1 Answer Denny, You will want to test the oven sensor to make sure that the sensor has a resistance reading of 1090 ohms at room temp. If it does not then it is faulty and would need replaced. If the sensor checks ok then the control board will be the issue. Read More...
Lucylou June 02, 2016 for Model Number 790.97432800 I was told that I needed to purchase the overlay (part #316419812) for the control panel (clock/timer part #316462878) by the local repair shop. Is this true? It doubles the price of the repair, and from the looks of it, the overlay is fine.
1 Answer Hello LucyLou. yes, if the old one will not peel off without damage you will need to replace it. You can try using the old one. Read More...
Todd T. May 31, 2012 for Model Number 790.97433804 Can I install this myself or does it require a repair expert? If so, can I get directions for how to do it?
1 Answer Hello Todd. To install the clock 316462878, you will need to disconnect the power and pull the unit out. Once you can access the back, you will remove the back panel covering the back of the clock. Once removed, you will access the screws securing the clock to the control panel. Remove the screws from the clock assembly. Remove the wires, one at a time, and install them onto the new clock assembly as you remove them from the old clock. Install the new clock in reverse order once the wires are connected. Read More...
