John A. August 07, 2014 for Model Number 79078672404 The contoller seems to be functioning but the oven burner won't light. The broiler mode fires properly and shares the same burner mounted inside top of oven. Kenmore warm 'N ready. Oven temp adjusts up and down then I assume you press oven again and she should fire. 1 Answer John, Test for 3.2-3.6 vac at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
