For Frigidaire Electronic Control Board (Temperature Control) (Part Number: OEM11316225)

1 Answer

Bob, This should just be a control issue at the lid and should not need the control by the compressor.

Ron, This would most likely be a faulty main control board as opposed to the user interface.

Jeffrey for Model Number 25326092100

We had a power outage. Since then the freezer alarm has been constant. The display toggles between 0F and 6F. The alarm reset was unresponsive. I unplugged the unit for a few minutes, during which time the display continued to flash a zero and a one, alternately. I figured capacitors must be discharging, and waited for that to stop before powering up. The alarm sounded immediately, but it allowed me to reset this time. The compressor did not come on, so I pressed 'fast freeze'. Compressor came on. I checked box temp with thermocouple, it was at -2F, but display still flashing 0 and 6F. Alarm light is on, no alarm tone.

Jeffrey, Based on the information provided this looks to be an issue either with the connection to the board or the board itself.

Kevin for Model Number kenmore 253.16582104

Hello, I have a Kenmore Elite 253.16582104 chest freezer. We had a power outage about a week ago and the freezer display was off. I unplugged the unit for about three minutes and plugged it back in. The top display came on and then went off after about 10 hours. If I unplug it, wait about a minute and then plug it back in I get the same results.... seems to run fine but then completely shuts off after several hours. I am thinking main board, but don't know how to rule out the lid board. Your help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Frank, Looks like CE is a microprocessor or a communication error problem. try this first Remove power to the freezer, remove the bottom kick plate and check the wire harness at the freezer door hinge and the connections at the bottom frame to make sure there aren't any loose or broken wires or connections. restore power, if the problem returns or persists, replace the 216979600 / 216979600 Control board in the freezer door. Thanks, ,

Tom for Model Number GLFU1767FW2

10 year old Frigidaire upright Freezer .It worked well at -17°C up to 3 weeks ago when the temperature started dropping . Over the course of a week it gradually went down until about -5°C when the alarm beeped. The reset button did not help. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in and over a few hours would increase back up to -14°C and remain there for 12 to about 30 hours when it would start dropping to -5°C and the alarm would go again. Reset would not change it . I have changed the defrost thermostat. What would you suggest is the problem?

1 Answer

There are a couple of "basic" checks to make first. Make sure the door closes and seals properly, the door light switch and light operate properly, and check for a proper temperature. If the interior temperature increases to 23 dgrs. or more for an extended period, then the alarm will sound. If all checks are OK, then replace the control 216979600.

Hello Jene, The logical part to change out first is the thermistor 297018400 since it is the temperature probe that sends the information to the electronic control. When it is installed, it is recommended to use a lubricant to seal moisture out of the splice area. If the thermistor doesn't correct the issue, the electronic control 216944300 will require replacement to return normal operation.
