The Start Switch is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dryers. This part initiates the dryer's cycle once the user selects the desired settings. By pressing the start switch, the motor activates, and the drying process begins, ensuring clothes are dried according to the selected specifications.

Symptoms of a bad Start Switch include:

  • The dryer not starting when the switch is pressed
  • Intermittent starting issues, where the dryer sometimes starts and sometimes doesn’t
  • The need to hold the switch in place to keep the dryer running
  • Unusual noises when the switch is pressed

Causes for a malfunctioning Start Switch can include electrical issues, such as faulty wiring or connections, wear and tear from frequent use, or internal failures within the switch mechanism that prevent it from signaling the motor to start.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore dryers.

Hello John, While we cannot verify this part is correct for your model because we are unable to look up import models, (shown to be a Canadian model), this design switch never has threaded holes when new. The existing screws should thread in with no problem for the parts installation.

John, The shafts of the knobs are D shaped and pull straight off. The timer knob is held on the shaft by a locking rod that extends to the rear of the timer. To remove the knob disconnect power to the machine, open and remove the control panel and using a small screwdriver pull the locking rod backward(out) to release the knob then pull the knob off. To access the controls remove the access panel. the panel is held in place by two screws and two tabs on the upper corners of the panel. Remove the screws and pull up and out to remove the panel. Remove the four screws two on each side holding the console to the dryer section side panels. Carefully pull down and out on the console. The console will now hang on the wires and tube to the pressure switch. Disconnect the wires from the start switch, remove the two screws holding the switch to the control mounting bracket, and pull the switch out the back of the console. Reverse the procedure and check the dryer for operation.

Mary, It will not matter which terminal the wires will go to on the start switch. This switch is just to pass power through it.

Hello Lynette, Since the dryer timer simply presses on and the washer knob screws on with standard right handed threads, you should have no problem changing the knob.

Hello Boubacar, Since you are looking at a vendor number, which will not come up as a valid number, we will require a model number from the units' I.D. tag to provide you with the correct part number. I apologize for the added inconvenience, but we appreciate your understanding in the matter.
