Lisa W. April 26, 2011 for Model Number TFX25JPCCWW I have had this GE side by side refrigerator TFX25JPCCWW since fall of 1999. It has been basically freezing things in the fresh food section for the past few years. It doesnt matter what shelf its on of if I have it set at a 1.. it freezes my fruit and vegetables and anything that is near the back... jelly,,, yogurt.... you name it.. So I am wondering, if I replace the control temp. if that would solve the problem.. I see they are 70 plus dollars so I dont want to invest the money in it if that is not the issue... The unit is 11 and a half years... but i dont really want to get a new one just yet if it can last a bit... thanks
1 Answer Hello Lisa. Check the air return in the bottom of the refrigerator and make sure it is not blocked. If it is clear, you will need to check the damper assembly and make sure it is closed and not broken. if it check out good, then the temperature control WR09X10016 could be the problem. Hope this helps. Read More...
Doug March 02, 2011 I can't seem to hold the temp in the freezer steady. Would like to keep it at zero but it will vary from +20 and to -10. Is the temp control bad?
1 Answer Hello Doug, If the freezer is not showing any defrost problems, then the temperature control should fix your problem. Hope this helps. Read More...
