Jarrod, If the water is filling fine but not getting all the detergent out of the clothes then there is one of a couple of issue. The first would be that the water is not filling enough and you will want to check the water level. The other things would be that you are either overloading the unit, which does not allow proper movement or there is being too much detergent used.

The washer fills and then stops. I have to push the start button again in order for it to start the agitation cycle. Sometimes it stops in the middle of the 9 minute or 6 minute cycle and I have to push the start button again to get it to start agitation again. Once it gets through the agitation cycle, it usually finishes without any other problems. Occasionally it will drain but will not do a final spin so the clothes are still extremely wet. Which part do we need to replace to get it to go through an entire wash without having to push the start button continuously?

Hello Alvin. It sounds like the control assembly is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

The plastic knob stem for my water temperature selector on my GE washer is snapped off. This little plastic piece is part of the ASM controls assembly (WH12X10222). The piece is easy to remove from the ASM, but I haven't been able to find a replacement. It's black plastic, about 1-1/4" diameter by 3/8" thick, with a round smooth flange edge. The smaller diameter body is ribbed around the edge (so it "clicks" as you turn it). It has the number 123C8286P001 inscribed. I'm not going to replace the whole ASM to get this little piece of plastic that weighs about 1/10th of an ounce. Is there anywhere to source it?

Sonny, First remove power to the washer, you may want to turn the water faucets off as well. Remove the four(4) screws across the top front edge of the control panel. Remove the knobs from the assembly and roll the panel forwards toward you. Remove the harness connections and retain model selector harness plug for reassembly. You may also want to label or mark the connectors as you remove them from the original board. Remove the four(4) to six(6) 1/4 inch hex head screws from the control board. Remove the control board assembly by lifting it up and off the control panel mounting plate. Reverse procedure to install the new control board and test the washer for operation. You need to be careful for the sharp edges on the control panel area, and hold and handle the control board by the edges.

Hi Dan. Is there any lights flashing on the control panel? Is the button stuck -on- ? If the lid switch is defective you will not get any commands to work. The lid switch is part # WH12X10141. Thank you.
