Mc March 17, 2024 for Model Number JGBP33BEL4BB Hello, when opening the oven door it is going down too far now, well past 90 degrees. What do you recommend?
Kim February 15, 2023 for Model Number JGBP32WES1WG We had to remove the oven door to move the range through a doorway to another room during a kitchen renovation. After moving the oven back into place and replacing the oven door, it seems the springs are broken so the door will heavily flop down upon opening if you don't hold it as it opens up. Where do I find the springs and can they be replaced. Should I also replace the door hinges??
1 Answer Kim, The door springs WB9K05 can be accessed by removing the sides of the range. It is possible the retainers WB2K11 could be the issue. Read More...
Chuck S February 05, 2021 for Model Number JGB820SEP2SS GE stand-alone gas range Model JGB820SEP2SS Problem: Oven door squeaks loudly when opened or closed. I have the proper hi-temp, food grade lubricant to try to solve the problem, but need advice on how to access the hinge parts that should be lubricated. Also, what should I look for to determine if the hinges should be replaced (assuming they’re still available). Thanks
1 Answer Hello Chuck, the hinges WB10K12, are still available, check for wear at the 2 pivot points on the hinge once the oven door is removed, The pivot points are where the lubricant can be applied. Read More...
Terry December 30, 2020 for Model Number GE C2S980SEM5SS The oven door goes past 90 degrees. The access to the hinge spring is under/behind the glide bar for the lower oven. Is it necessary to remove the exterior range sides to access the hinge spring?
1 Answer Terry, the side panel would need to be removed to access the hinge spring WB9K5. Read More...
Tom November 23, 2019 for Model Number JGBS20BEW1WH The oven door hinge assembly (rt side) roller guide broke in half. I do not see that part in the diagram. I removed the right side panel - the spring is still attached but the door drops past 180 degrees. Is this roller part of the support rivet? Part# (AP2020148)? 11-23-19.
1 Answer Tom, Yes, this support rivet WB10K13 would be the support for the hinge that would have the roller on it. Read More...
Tom D January 23, 2015 for Model Number RB757EH3BB Is there a lock on the hinges to be opened before pulling the door away from oven body?
1 Answer Tom D, The door hinges do not have a lock on them before pulling the door off. You will open the door to the first stopping point and then lift off. Read More...
Michael November 26, 2014 for Model Number GE Cafe Oven CGS980SEMSS The oven door opens past 90 degrees - about two inches too far. It feels normal, just opens too far. Do I need to replace the hinges?
1 Answer Michael, You will want to check the door liner to make sure that it is not bowed where the hinges go into the channels on the door. If this checks ok then the hinges would be the most likely part needed. Read More...
Michael November 18, 2014 for Model Number JGB928SEK3SS Hi, I removed the door when cleaned the oven and noticed that my left hinge does not seem to have any tension and therefore the door is held only by one hinge. I suspect that the spring got detached. It's my understanding that I need to reach the hinge spring thru a small door on the left side inside the lower oven. However, there is a drawer glide/guide covering this door. How can I remove the glide to get to the spring or is there any other way to get to the spring? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Michael. You will need to remove the sides of the unit and check and see if the springs WB9K4 have come off the unit, or if the hinges are not installed properly for the springs to work on the unit. Read More...
Ax March 30, 2014 for Model Number PGB908SEM1SS Currently, after passing the broil position that allows door removal, the hinge door falls open rapidly *and* then falls past 90 degrees. Does this signify a problem with the hinge or the spring or both? Is there some lock on the hinge that ensure that the door does not fall past 90 degrees or is this just maintained by the tension in the spring?
1 Answer Hello Ax, The door hinges WB10K12 should never drop past 90°. This signifies the hinges have an issue. The door should never drop like a brick so this indicates a problem with the springs WB9K5. Read More...
