John November 15, 2013 for Model Number GE Refriderator Model GDS20SCSSS Hello, a couple of people have asked this but I have not seen a accurate (or detailed) reply and can not figure it out on my own. I need to remove the GUIDE RAIL(MIDDLE T/V) and install it into a new LOWER PAN. The guide rail does NOT slide off the old lower pan- yes you can lift the tab and slide it 3" either direction but then each end of the curved front lower pan has plastic tabs on it that will not allow the guide rail to be removed. It does not lift directly up. Would you happen to have more details that can help me? And of course once I remove it- I will need to install it on the new lower. (I can cut my old lower and remove the guide, but that will not change the fact that I will need to install on the new lower that is identical to the old one- meaning guide will not fit) It seems that the lower should just come with the guide rail. I am also so fascinated by this puzzle it might be worth watching a GE tech removing and installing this simple plastic lower and guide!! Thank you very very much
1 Answer John, Even though the manufacturer does not put out a detailed installation instruction of these parts unless it is directly related to the repair of a functional part that keeps the unit cooling properly. This piece separates the crisper drawer halves. It clips tightly in place onto the middle bottom of the lower pan frame. From the top view there is a -T- on the front end part. This part clips in place as the back rounded piece of the top clips in the back of the frame. The guide rail part # WR02X11684 has grooves on the side for the inner Lt. and Rt. baskets slide into and out of. Thank You. Read More...
Edwinaj October 16, 2013 for Model Number GDS20KBSACC How do I remove the Guide rail from the old lower pan frame so that I can install it on the new lower pan frame?
1 Answer Edwina, To remove the guide rail you would need to remove the crisper drawers and lift the glass out. Once the glass is out the guide rail should lift up and slide out. Read More...
Fran May 19, 2012 for Model Number gbs22kbsbww I purchased and installed this part in my GE refrigerator. However, the rail does not stay in place in that it can easily be pulled out to one side or the other in the front. In other words, the rail/tray seems to be missing a piece that allows the rail remain stable. If you know what I'm talking about, can you please tell me what piece I seem to be missing? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Fran! The middle guide rail WR02X11684 has a little tab that installs onto the crisper cover WR72X10154. If the tab on the crisper cover has broken the middle rail will move freely and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps you. Thanks! Read More...
