This heater element kit is the replacement heating assembly for select GE electric dryers. It restores the dryer's ability to generate heat so loads dry normally and cycles finish on time. What it does:

  • Generates the hot air needed to dry clothes by heating incoming air in the dryer cabinet
  • Replaces a failed or damaged heating assembly that can cause no heat or reduced heat
  • Helps resolve symptoms such as long dry times, damp clothes after a full cycle, or a dryer that runs but produces little or no heat
  • Works with the dryer's thermal controls to maintain safe operating temperature

Hello Ed, You can order and install part number WE11X203 but you should be aware that you can over-stretch the coiled element and this will cause the element to possibly contact ground.

Charles, To install the restring kit you will need to use a putty knife between the main top and push the spring clips that hold it in place. Lift up on the main top and remove. Once the main top is removed you will need to remove the front panel and release the dryer belt. You will then want to go to the back of the unit and remove the rear cover. Remove the screws holding the bearing retainer in place. Once removed you should be able to lift the drum out and access the heater.

Pccat, Yes, the terminals have a release point. You'll need to "squeeze" the plastic cover together, and pull out on the wire at the same time. You can also use a small flat blade screwdriver, and carefully "pry" the wire terminals off the element terminals.

Hello Maria, we show for the bearing we have a kit that includes all of the parts needed to replace it part number WE25M40. If you were referring to the ceramic insulator for the heating element it's part number WE1X1176. Thanks!

Larry, the heater element kit WE11X203 comes with both coils for your heater element. It does not matter which coil goes where. Just make sure you spaces them between the insulators evenly. Thanks!
