Nick for Model Number PSHS6TGXBDSS

Hello, I am having an issue where the actual versus set temperatures for both the freezer and temp just don't match. Also, the fridge runs a long time before finally turning off. I have already replaced the evaporator fan motor which includes the freezer side thermistat, the run capacitator as well as the main control board. I have also cleaned the compressor , rear unit fan as well as bottom front areas of fridge. So now the unit turns off when the freezer temp reaches -1 degrees and the fridge is 35 degrees (even though I have set it to default 0 and 37 from the dispenser board). I used to be able to just raise the temp from the dispenser board when freezer and fridge temps were too low and the unit would turn off accordingly. Now the dispenser board doesn't respond to what I select Is the issue I'm having with the obsolete dispenser board (part # WR55X10776), or something else at this point? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,

Leo, Unfortunately, with this interface having been discontinued by the manufacturer, there would be no suitable replacement available.

Hello Deena, Before considering part replacement you should check the wiring harness at the door hinge. This is a very common failure point since the harness bends back and forth every time the door is opened and closed. You should then check for power supplied to the dispenser board from the mainboard since the main board is another common failure and it does contain the power supplies for the dispense functions.

Ray, You will want to disconnect the water line at the bottom of the door and press the dispenser lever and see if water comes from the tube that comes from under the refrigerator. If it does then this would be a frozen fill tube on the dispenser. If this is the case the only thing that could be done would be that the door would need to be replaced.

Hello Vick. Unplug the unit and grasp the control on the bottom lip. Pull outward to unsnap and remove the interface from the dispenser area. Thank you.

Mr. P. for Model Number PSHS6TGXBDSS

Problem started with the ice dispenser, by pressing the level, a second later, what seemed to be an overload, will cause the display to go off and whole unit to be unresponsive, and then come up lit minutes later. After few similar incidents, eventually the front display stayed dark and nothing was operational, from the control/dispensing unit. After researching, the front display panel gets power from the main board, so I did changed the main board, but now the display is still dead, and the only thing working are the lights, no running compressor. Since then I put back the original main board that at least keeps the refrigerator running, but without dispenser or temp. controls/display etc. At last, after awhile, having the refrigerator operational but without lights, and using the ice maker without dispenser I did replaced the front panel display but did not change anything! So here I am looking for professional help. Again the new main board not only did not fix the problem, but it did not kick the compressor on either, and the new front control panel did not help, btw solenoid is fine. Thanks in advance

Hi. You also need to note that the fountain control assy. gets its power through the connectors above the freezer door hinge cover area. Quickly check to see if there are any connector pins burnt or not connecting. Jumper these if necessary and correct all unclean ground screw connections. Make sure the wires are not twisted together4 and pulling the connectors apart as the door opens and closes. The same as all electrical pin connections at either the controls and the main control board. Use a magnifying glass to see if the female connectors are not bent out enough to make tight contact with the boards. Use a pick tool to reach in and pull the female inverted pins out. Small but major part issues. The freezer door switch part # [] has to open and close the power going to the fountain control board. We will send the control board instructions as the connections are the same but may be in a new area-thus-a possible misplaced board connection (unmeanig ably). Since the solenoid is an output voltage, your concern will be if any wire is pinched together or shorted to the bare cabinet. Look for this as well at all main control board connections. You are correct with a power supply issues with the initial fading of the fountain control board functions. Use a ohm meter to make sure all connections are not shorted to the cabinet one at a time. You will compare the main board output voltage's. There is a fountain lighting board part # WR55X10899, separate from the fountain control board. We will email information as well. Thank You.
