Tim October 12, 2025 for Model Number Cgs990set5ss Converted to propane but upper oven doesn’t work. Think I may have mixed the jet sizes. Can’t find my instruction sheet. Need to confirm upper oven, broiler, and lower oven sizes. Can you help?
1 Answer Thank you for your question, Tim. The manufacturer's parts list does not show the individual orifice sizes, just the conversion kit part number WB28K10800 - WB28K10800. Read More...
Sam December 05, 2022 for Model Number CGS990SET7S Good morning, I have a GE double oven stove that I'm going to convert to propane. The oven model is CGS990SET7SS And I got the kit WB28K10800. The orifice for the LF burner is much longer than the others in the kit and also longer than the one in the stove currently. I would like to know if the new orifice is indeed supposed to longer than the others? Thank you. Sam,
1 Answer Sam, This is a manufacturer design, just check the number on the orifice and match it to the instructions or the range tech sheet. Read More...
Ray January 29, 2019 for Model Number CGS990SET4SS Our range was converted to LP but now I need to convert it back to NG but I have none of the original parts. What parts do I need to convert back to NG? Is there a single kit that I can purchase to get them all together?
1 Answer Ray, you will need [WB28K10740], [WB28K10475], [WB28K10871], [WB28K10741], [WB28K10785], [WB28K10708], [WB28K10738], and [WB28K10706]. You will also have to set the regulator for natural gas. Read More...
Scott H. November 08, 2018 for Model Number GE cgs990set3ss Is there a conversion kit to convert the GE cgs990set3ss range from LP to natural gas? I see the question where you list the individual part numbers needed but was hoping there might be a kit that includes all the parts necessary. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Scott, I'm sorry but most units do not have an LP to natural kit available since the units are set up from the factory for natural gas. When LP is to be used and an LP kit is installed, the manufacturer automatically assumes that the customer will retain the natural gas parts for future use. Read More...
Gary M July 22, 2018 for Model Number cgs990set9ss I purchased GE range CGS990SET9SS but apparently it had been converted to LP gas without leaving the NG parts to covert it back. I noticed you replied to a request for parts for the SET8SS. Will these be the same parts needed for the SET9SS? Best regards, gary
1 Answer Gary, Yes both of these units will use the same parts for changing back to Natural gas. Read More...
Julie July 06, 2018 for Model Number CGS990SET1SS We purchased a floor model. We converted it to LP and are experiencing slow propane leakage (takes time to build up). Wondering if the installer used the wrong kit or the kit is defective. We had GE and the gas company out, but neither will acknowledge it is their issue. Before I get rid of a 3k stove, I am considering buying a new conversion kit. Can you please verify the proper kit is AP5330552? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Julie, The correct conversion kit is WB28K10800 for model CGS990SET1SS as per the manufacturer. The individual that searches for the gas leak should use a proper liquid solution to locate the leak. If they do not have a gas leak detection fluid, it can be made by adding one teaspoon of liquid soap to one quart of water. The soap content cannot exceed this amount since this thickens the solution and instead of bubbling, it will actually temporarily seal the leak so it cannot be located. Read More...
Alan May 14, 2018 for Model Number CGS990SETSS I just went back from LP to NG and my ovens are heating really slow. The flame from the broiler is about an inch long. The flames from the both ovens are about half inch. Broil seems fine. What am I missing? I have loosened the jets and messed with the air mix....which only works if they are all the way closed.
1 Answer Hello Alan. You will need to flip the regulator back to NG for the unit to work properly. Thank you. Read More...
Nick P February 21, 2018 for Model Number CGS990SET8SS I purchased a floor model that had been converted to LP. They did not include the orfices to be used at a later time. Can you please tell me what parts I need to convert it back to natural gas/factory setting. I currently have parts # wb28k10871, wb28k10740, wb28k10475, wb28k10741, wb28k10712.
1 Answer Nick, For converting back to natural gas you will need for the left front WB28K10740, left rear WB28K10475, right front WB28K10785, right rear WB28K10741, and center WB28K10871. For the oven you will loosen the orifices 1 1/2 to 2 turns then close the air shutter to about 3/4 way open. Read More...
