The Drum Slide is an OEM replacement part for GE clothes dryers. It supports the front of the dryer drum, allowing it to rotate smoothly and quietly. Made of durable materials, this component reduces friction as the drum spins, ensuring that the appliance operates with minimal noise and wear.

Causes for a malfunctioning Drum Slide can include wear and tear from the constant rotation of the drum, accumulation of lint or debris causing friction, or damage due to overloading the dryer may also disrupt slide movement quality over time.

Symptoms of a faulty drum slide include:

  • Noisy or off-balance drying
  • Excessive drying times from inadequate tumbling action
  • Premature wear of bearings and drive components due to slide friction issues

This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Harry, You will want to pull the front off the unit and check the front bearing glides and check the front felt seal to make sure that it is not damaged. This is the area that the clothes would get caught in. Also make sure that the dryer is not being overloaded as that can cause the same issue.

Karina, you will need to remove the control panel and front of the dryer to access the front tumbler support and check the drum seal and glides. It's a bit involved, but you should be able to do the checks and repairs. You should check your e mail for additional information. Thanks and Good Luck
