The Rocker Switch is an OEM part for GE ranges. This switch is used to control the surface heating elements, allowing users to turn them on or off and adjust the heat levels. It is designed to fit securely into the range's control panel, providing reliable operation and ease of use.

Causes of a bad switch rocker element can include regular wear and tear, electrical issues, or damage from spills or high temperatures. Over time, the internal contacts of the switch can degrade, leading to malfunction.

Symptoms of a bad switch rocker element include:

  • The heating element not turning on or off
  • Difficulty in adjusting the heat levels
  • The switch feeling loose or unresponsive
  • Flickering or intermittent operation of the heating element

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Rocker Switch (Part Number: OEM13452714)

Francisco, If the burner is not coming on at all then you would want to check the infinite switch to see if it has 240 vac coming from it to the elements. If it does not then the switch is bad and if there is then the burner would be faulty. If there is only the inner element that is working then this would be a possible rocker switch that is faulty. Test the switch for continuity and if it checks ok then the issue will be the element that is faulty.

Robert, The pre heat cycle on an oven will have erratic temperatures in the beginning. It takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes for the oven interior and temperature to "temper" and produce a consistent temperature. In your range on the bake selection, the elements alternate between the bake and broil elements on approximately a 50 / 10 cycle rate (bake 50 sec./ broil 10 sec.) But sounds like all is OK at this time. Thanks,
