Mary S. December 08, 2016 for Model Number JKP07G0J5BG I have a 25 yr old GE 27" wall oven. Not a double oven. Oven works fine. After remodeling the kitchen I would like to update the look of the oven. Is a replacement door possible, or a replacement panel for the black glass. I would like more of a stainless look. Also the glass in the door is cracked. This is not visible on the outside, but is on the inside. Can you help?

David October 19, 2014 for Model Number JGBP30WEV3WW The glass on the inside of the oven door cracked and a piece actually fell out into the oven. I removed the piece. 1 Answer David, the inner door glass is part number WB56K19. To change the glass in an oven door, you will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If your door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door glass, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it. Read More...
