Brian May 05, 2015 for Model Number 72162622200 Part 2 of my question (part 1 was sparking after install). The gasket was not on the unit was not on and at the bottom of the shipping box. After putting this on, sparks are gone. However, now I get smoking and the top of the magnetron gets really hot after about 30 seconds. What is wrong?
1 Answer Hello Brian, It sounds like there could be moisture, such as condensation, in the magnetron tube. Read More...

Barbie November 06, 2014 for Model Number 72185033111 My 3-year-old Kenmore over-the-range microwave oven quit revolving and heating at the same time. Repairman said it needed a new magnetron and that the replacement part would cost more than buying a new microwave. If his diagnosis is correct, isn't that part AP4437489 about $60? Could it be another problem besides, or in addition, to changing out the magnetron? Also, is it easier to replace the appliance rather than taking the oven apart to install a new magnetron?
1 Answer Barbie, Yes the magnetron is part number 2B71165R. To replace this part you would pull the unit from installation and remove the cabinet, with the cabinet removed you will be able to access the magnetron to replace it. Read More...
Diana January 10, 2014 My husband believes that our magnetron is our issue. I put in our Microwave model # in and you have the part. The numbers 2M214 and 161GP match, but not the C11A-013561 are different. Does this make a difference?
1 Answer Hello Diana. No, if the model number said 2B71165R is correct, it should work fine in the unit. Be sure and replace the diode with the magnetron. Read More...
