The Ice Maker and Auger Motor Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for both producing ice and dispensing it from the ice maker. The ice maker produces ice cubes, while the auger motor drives the auger to move ice from the ice bin to the dispenser chute, ensuring a steady flow of ice whenever needed.

Causes of a bad assembly can include electrical issues, wear and tear from regular use, or damage to the motor or ice-making components. A malfunctioning assembly can lead to inconsistent ice production and dispensing problems.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker and auger motor assembly include:

  • No ice production or insufficient ice
  • The auger not dispensing ice properly
  • Unusual noises from the ice maker area
  • Ice jams or clumps in the ice bin

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

LG ice maker in this refridge is making ice, but doesn't dump into ice keeper. Have replaced ice mak er AEQ73110203 and hasn't fixed problem. Have looked at several others on your site with same problem and a last resort fix was new main board. Trying to double check info before spending $$$ since 'fridge in Kenmore Elite, contacted Sears parts direct and they told me to fix using AugerMotor EAU60783827. Can you confirm this info? Thanks.

The auger is not in the circuit with the ice makers cycling and would not be an issue. Since you replaced the ice maker I would be doing a temp check to be sure the ice section is at 0. If you are 5 or 10 degrees higher the tray thermistor will not cycle the ice maker.
