Tom October 09, 2018 for Model Number Sears Kenmore Elite 795.74025.411 This unit is a bottom freezer with french doors on upper fridge. Over the past couple weeks, the temps have slowly moved up. After some troubleshooting, I’ve discovered that the fans for the fridge and freezer are not running. The compressor runs, condensor fan is clean and runs fine. It appears to be an issue with the evaporator fan - it is not running. If I place the unit in Test mode #1, the fan starts and blows air in both the upper fridge and freezer. When operating normally it does not. I’ve check the resistance on the sensors for the fridge and freezer and while the voltage appears to be in range, the measured resistance is wrong and indicates a temperature far too warm. Logic would dictate that the fan would run constantly, but it is actually not running at all. Is the issue with both thermistors/sensors? Seem unlikely that both would fail at the same time. Unfortunately, this would mean that the PCB is bad… Any ideas?
1 Answer Tom, The thermistors/sensors are the least likely issue at this point, without air movement the temperatures are going to increase. DC volt fan motors have a reputation for erratic operation, no run, slow run, intermittent run, but the likelihood of both faans failing at once is a bit of a stretch, but possible. You may want to check for 12 to 14 VDC at the fan motor(s) from the control board in a "normal" cooling cycle, because it does sound like you may have a failed or damaged control board " It appears to be an issue with the evaporator fan - it is not running. Paul S January 31, 2018 for Model Number LFXS30726S Hi i am getting an error rF I changed the pcb motor and that did not fix the problem the unit runs for a few hours and then the error appears again.
1 Answer Paul, If the refrigerator motor has been replaced and still does not come on then this will be an issue with the main control board of the unit. Read More...
