Bonnie September 04, 2011 for Model Number CST4812131 I have stainless steel braided fill hoses on my Whirlpool Duet Washer installed in 2007. Will I ever need to replace them or are they good for life? They have a elbow so the washer can push up closer to the wall in my narrow laundry room. A employee at Lowe's told me to replace the washers. When I unscrewed the fill hose and looked at the washers it didn't appear like the washer could exchange. should the washers be replaced after 4 years?
1 Answer Bonnie, I would not count on the fill hoses to last forever, 10 to 15 years or longer, quite likely. As for the hose washers, Yes, you will want to check and replace the flat hose washer(at the water fill valve of the washer) and the screened hose washer( at the faucet connection) 12001413 every couple of years , or when you notice the fill cycle taking longer to fill. To change or remove the washers, you'll need a small blade screwdriver, insert the blade under the washer from the center opening and "peel" it up and out of the hose fitting.
