Lance,

We do not have a manual or video on this timer. As for how to change it, the knob should just pull straight off. Then you will need to remove the screws holding the rear of the control panel in place and you will have access to the Timer. Remove the screws holding the timer in place and disconnect the wiring one at a time and install on the new timer then reinstall in reverse.

Rd for Model Number ADE4BRGS171TW01

Service guy came to check out our Speed Queen model ADE4BRGS171TW01 dryer. The dryer would come on, but there was no heat. There was good flow through vent and good power going to dryer. He determined that it was the timer. He brought out the new 505794P timer to replace the existing one. There was one wire left in the harness that was plugged into the original timer, but no place to plug it into the replacement timer. The part number for the replacement seemed to be correct and the appearance was the same except for the missing terminal. There was no schematic or instructions with the new timer. Leaving the one wire off did not allow the dryer to even turn on. Did something change?

Rd,

You will want to check to make sure that you got the correct timer for this unit. Look at the old timer and see if it matches the same part number on the new timer.

Hello Pam. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the dryer timer is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Bruce W for Model Number SPEEDQUEEN AES68AWF

My dryer works intermittenly. I tested the cycling Therm, thermal fuse and heating elements for continuity and voltage and found nothing wrong. I believe Timer 505794P is the problem, as when I wiggle and push the start button multiple times, the heaters will come on when selected to Automatic dry. Most times i can't get the heaters to come on in the Timed dry position, and sometimes if i get the heaters to come on in timed dry , they turn off (weak coil ???) Is there some test I can do with the timer to prove its the problem ????

Bruce,

The only way to determine if the timer is the issue would be using the wiring diagram and the timing chart to make sure that there is power to the heater at certain times in the cycle or during a timed dry cycle in the heat selection.

Hello brokedryer. That sounds more like a bad motor and not a bad timer. You will need to replace the motor in the unit.
