I Stripped out the screw that holds the Auger coupler at the bottom of the ice bucket. I need to drill this out and replace the screw. It is item #17 in the freezer door diagram. Part # AP6012411. I think the coupler is damaged, and have a replacement you sent me but I need a new screw. It is #8-32 but do not know the length. I think 1/4" but not sure. I plan on buying the screw rather than paying the shipping cost for such an inexpensive part. Can you email me the length? I know it is a Philips head stainless steel screw. I also read in your question answers for Ice Bucket not seating properly to tap on Auger shaft several times. I am afraid this might damage the motor, what do you think?

Robert, the overall length of the WP8281164 / WP8281164 screw is 1/2 in. and the #8-32 is the correct thread width, You should be able to pick up a reasonable facsimile at the local hardware store, home improvement center or automotive parts distributor. If you're careful, a couple of "light" taps, with a screwdriver and screwdriver handle, on the auger coupling and shaft, shouldn't create any issues.

The screw on the bottom of the ice crusher auger is tight . Is it a left or right hand screw. It is really tight. Item b=number #17 on the auger diagram

Ralph, This screw would have a standard right hand thread on it.

the ice bin container will not sit flush on the freezer door, I have checked and done all the obvious things, i.e. there is nothing obstructing the coupler from sitting on the motor shaft. I have tried aligning the motor shaft to the coupler, and i can get it to engage, but the bin will not sit flush on the door..., what could cause this to happen. Prior to the ice bin container being remove to empty the ice container, it did sit flush on the freezer door.

Vito, It sounds like the shaft that runs from the motor to the bin may be sitting too high. Remove the bin and tap the top of the shaft on the door down with a hammer or the but end of a screwdriver and put bin back on. It may be necessary to do this a couple of times to get the bin to sit flush.

Hello Tammy, If this is the screw on the bottom of the ice bucket it is a phillips head screw but we do not have the size that it would require.

This screw fits into the bottom of the auger and holds the entire assembly together. The screw, however won't come out. It's almost like it's glued in. How do I get this screw loose to replace another part on the auger?

Hello. These can be tight. Make sure you use the correct size screwdriver when removing the screw. Hope this helps.
