Nelson July 01, 2020 for Model Number ATW4675YQ1 Noticed that our clothes weren't being properly cleaned when running the washer. Checked the Agitator and it spins freely when not in use. Based on my research, it appears the the Spines have stripped. The Agitator is a Single Action Unit. Trying to loosen the bolt but when I hold the drum to loosen the bolt, the entire shaft spins with the bolt. Do I need to stabilize the shaft from underneath in order to loosen the bolt?
1 Answer Nelson, when loosening the agitator bolt, it is easiest to use a ratchet and hit the handle to loosen the bolt. Read More...
Rachele Terlizzi May 06, 2020 for Model Number Roper RAS7133PQC Trying to replace the clutch on this machine. I removed the bolt on the top of the agitator but it still will not come out of the machine. I mean it WILL NOT BUDGE. It spins but will not move up and down at all. Should I cut the agitator off?
1 Answer Rachele, If the agitator will not come off after removing the bolt down in the center of it, try taking a rope and slide it under the agitator and use leverage to wiggle it off. Read More...
Ed November 07, 2019 for Model Number ATW4675YQ1 As part of the repair, the nut simply spins separately from the assembly. It seems as though the splines are raw. Is there an easy way to take the agitator out if that happens or do I have to prop upside down to complete.
1 Answer Ed, "do I have to prop upside down to complete" wouldn't work anyway. You may want to try and hold the agitator stationary at the bottom and turn the agitator bolt counterclockwise. If that doesn't work, you can use a "Dremel" or saw and cut the agitator off of the agitator shaft, then check and clean the splines on the metal agitator shaft. Read More...

Dennis December 10, 2012 for Model Number lxr7133jqo After reading up on the problem of the agitator not working it sounds like the dogs are bad. This agitator is one piece so where are the dogs located?
1 Answer Dennis, A "one piece" agitator WP63235 does not have dogs, If your agitator is Slipping on the agitator shaft, you will need to replace it. The "splines" are stripped and worn allowing the shaft to rotate inside the agitator assembly. You'll need to carefully force the center cap up and off the agitator, with a screwdriver, remove the 7/16" hex bolt, and lift the agitator off the shaft, clean all the debris off the shaft, and reverse the procedure..
