The Dryer Drum Baffle is an OEM replacement part designed for Whirlpool dryers. The baffle, located inside the drum, helps lift and tumble clothes during the drying cycle, ensuring even and efficient drying. It agitates the clothing, allowing air to circulate freely and preventing tangling.

Note: This is the tall baffle.

Over time, the drum baffle can become loose or damaged due to frequent use and contact with clothing or objects left in pockets. Physical wear or repeated impacts might cause it to crack, detach, or warp, reducing its ability to tumble clothes properly.

Symptoms of a faulty Drum Baffle include:

  • Clothes not drying evenly or efficiently
  • Unusual noises coming from the drum, such as rattling or banging
  • Loose or detached baffle within the drum

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Tom, I pulled up a tech sheet for your model and it shows the sensor bars located on the rear bulkhead by the exhaust ports. However, no parts breakdown has these parts listed. The rear bulkhead does not even have a stamped hole where the moisture sensor bars go. I was just checking to make sure when you look into your dryer you can see the black part with chrome bars to the lower bottom correct. Even the parts breakdown from the manufacturer has the same result.

Julia, your model uses two tall baffles WP692490 and one short baffle WP3403636. You can measure the existing to see which one it is that you need. The tall baffle is 4 1/2" and the short baffle is 2 7/8. The baffle and screw could have just came loose, you'll need to inspect it to see if it did strip before replacing. Hope this information helps you, thanks.

Hi Teresa, you might not have noticed but your unit has two different drum baffles inside the drum. You should have one short baffle WP3403636 and two tall baffles WP692490. The screw WPW10109200 is the same for both. Hope this helps!
