The Bake Heating Element is an OEM Replacement Part for Whirlpool ovens, designed with push-on terminals. It measures 14-5/8" from the front to the mounting bracket, 19" in width, and 2-1/2" from the mounting bracket to the terminal end. The mounting holes on the bracket are spaced 1-7/8" apart, center to center. The terminals are designed as 1/4" male spades and the unit is rated for 2500 Watts at 240 Volts.

Causes of a bad bake element may include repeated heating and cooling cycles over time, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage from impact or exposure to spills.

Symptoms of a faulty bake element include:

  • Oven not heating up properly or taking an excessive amount of time to preheat
  • Hot or cold spots within the oven cavity, leading to uneven baking
  • Visible damage or discoloration to the bake element itself
  • Popping or sparking noises coming from the element area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Debra. Use pliers to grip the terminal and pull it off the spade on the element. Some of these can be tight.

James, You'll need a multi meter TJMA-DMT3 to test for 220 -240 VAC across the two wires that attach to the element, when a bake cycle is selected. You may have a damaged BK9bake) or DLB(dole line break) relay on the control 9752277CW or a damaged wire between the control and the element. Here's some meter usage information if you should need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html]. Good Luck and Thanks

Spokane, If the element is working at higher temperatures, completely red(no dim spots or areas) after a 10 or 15 minute heat cycle, the element and control should be OK, and you'll need to check or replace the oven temperature sensor WP8053344 . It could have a resistance issue after years of heat and usage. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Phebe. If the element can be seen from the inside, then no, you will disconnect the power and remove the screws holding the element in place. Then pull out and remove the wires from it. Install the new element WP9750213 in reverse order. If you can not see the element inside the oven, then you pull out the unit and remove the back panel. Hope this helps.

Hello Paul. No, you should be able to access the screws securing the bake element WP9750213 without removing the convection cover. Look around the back plate of the bake element. Hope this helps.

Hello Dave! Yes, the bake element can be shorting out causing it not to heat up as properly as it should. The bake element should be glowing a bright red when on, not a dull color. Thanks.

David for Model Number GR450LXHQ2

I had previously asked a question beacuse our oven would heat up but would not reach the desired pre set temperture during the normal pre-heat cycle. The bake element does get red (it does not stay red at the beginning of the pre-heat cycle)and the oven eventually reaches the desired temperture. I tested the temperture sensor with a muti meter and get the approaximately 1100 ohm reading at room temperture. Can an element be bad even if is heating up or is it something else? Thanks David

Hello Tommy. There will be two wire connectors that attach to the element just unhook them and attach to the new element. Hope this helps.
