Ila April 03, 2014 for Model Number GU1100XTLQ1 I am currently renting a house which provides this model Whirlpool dishwasher. I've noticed lately that, after washing, the dishes will sometimes have a white residue on them. I use a rinse agent now thinking it would help, and it has helped a little, but we still get a white residue, almost like a dried soap film, especially on the silverware and tupperware. What is causing this and how can I resolve it?
1 Answer Ila, In most cases what will cause this is either to much detergent or not enough detergent. You will want to find out what the water hardness of your water supply is. Extremely hard water can cause the dishes to have calcium residue from not using enough detergent and using too much detergent if you have softer water will cause the same effect. You will want to use 1 teaspoon of detergent per water hardness. Read More...
