This user interface control board manages the oven's front-panel display and touch controls so you can select functions, set temperatures and start cycles. Replacing a failed UI board restores normal control and display feedback. What it does:

  • Receives and processes inputs from the touchpad or buttons so selections start the correct cycles
  • Drives the front-panel display and indicator lights for cycle status and settings
  • Communicates commands to the main control to trigger heating and timing operations
  • Fault symptom coverage: blank or unresponsive display, unresponsive touchpad/buttons, or incorrect front-panel behavior
What's included:
  • One user interface control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker before starting any repair to prevent shock
  • Handle the board by edges and avoid touching components; observe anti-static precautions
  • Verify connectors are fully seated but do not force; match connector shapes and pin counts

For Whirlpool Control Board (User Interface) (Part Number: OEM18045549)

Floyd for Model Number KFCP22EXMP1

Refrigerator side is not cooling. I have an intermittant problem with the Air damper assy. not opening even when the evaporator fan is working. I can open the flap manually and then let it slap down (using the spring tension). This seems to awaken the damper assembly and it begins to open and close. I have my temperature set at 0 freezer and 37 refrigerator. I can sometimes turn off the refrigerator and turn it back on and the air damper begins to work. Sometimes it works normally for days and sometimes for only a few hours. I have replaced the air damper unit with a new one but it exhibits the same problem as the original one. I then replaced the thermistor and W10120827 and it did not resolve the problem. Is the W10120827 control board the last remaining connection in this circuit or am I missing something else?

Hello JIm, depending on the model and the control board some models use a 4,3, or 2 digit code. In that case, you will find that once you get to the programming step you will only have to enter the 01 as a code.

I think I need to replace the control board (W10116216) on my refrigerator. None of the buttons on the touch pad work. I have three questions. 1. Is this the correct diagnosis? 2. The last number on the appliance model for my unit is a "0". This seems odd since everything online indicates this should be some other number. Does this mean something that I should be aware of? 3. Do you have instructions on how to actually physically replace the board. I'm not asking about the programming that seems to be covered in previous answers.

Mark, While the control board could be the issue for the touchpad not working, it is very possible that the touchpad itself is faulty and would need replaced. As for how to get the control housing off, you will need to remove the light lens cover. Once the cover is removed, at the back side of where the control board is there are 2 holes that you would stick a flat blade screwdriver into and push. There is a tab that when pushed hard enough will release the control housing and then you just roll it down to remove.

I am trying to install the Temperature Control Board #W10116216 and it isn't wanting to accept the code "0215" that is on the new board. I am following the steps: 1) Press & Hold: Door Alarm keypad …………..Press & hold: Freezer Temp Down (-) 3 seconds. Display PE (indicates Program Mode) 2) Press Refrigerator Temp ? (+) or ? (-) to change value. 3) Press Freezer (+) to move decimal for next value. 4) When CODE (0215) is entered … Press and HOLD Freezer Temp ? (-) until code begins flashing (means it has been saved) IF CODE is wrong, it will beep … unit will not run with code of 0000. It keeps going to the "beeping", It only accepts 3 digits so the screen is showing 215 ... can you tell me if I have missed something or is the board you sent defective?

1 Answer

Doug, You've "missed something". The "personality code" is located on the serial plate tag inside the refrigerator compartment "Programming Mode: NOTE: The Program Code is located on the Serial Plate on this unit after the word Code". you're trying to enter the wrong personality code.
