Doug February 17, 2020 for Model Number MBF2258FEZ01 I have a Maytag Fridge MODEL MBF2258FEZ01 My fridge door opens too far and hits the counter. There is a door stop on it but it's too short. Maytag even says it doesn't work. Do you think your bracket AP6006147 will work in replacement of the Maytag door stop?
1 Answer Hello Doug, the manufacturer does not supply any type of door stop for this problem. There is a hinge stop but that is for there to prevent the door on full swing around from hitting the side of the ref cabinet. I tried adjusting the door stop bracket but it only has one position. Would it cause damage if I removed the door stop bracket altogether, or if I ground off part of the tab on the bracket?
