1 Answer Missy, You'll need to be careful so you don't create a bigger problem, but if the release button is broken, and out of the assembly, you can use that opening or the opening at the base of the ice bucket, to insert a tool (an awl or ice pick may be best) insert the tool at an angle towards the front of the bin assembly, the lock/latch is located in this area, use the tool to push the latch assembly to the left of the ice bin until the latch releases from the locking tabs on the freezer door liner and lift the ice bin off the door.
