For Whirlpool Ice Maker Condenser (Part Number: OEM18021666)

Hello Joseph, if water is flowing over the evaporator tray, the compressor and condenser fan motor are running but there is no ice slab being formed then it is likely there is a sealed system problem. Sealed system repairs would require an appliance service technician, this is in part due to the tools and equipment needed as well as EPA regulations.

Michelle for Model Number KUIC15NRTS0

My ice maker is making thin patchy ice. I have recently replaced the grid (because a wire was broken) and the circulation pump (2313702) and the thermistor. None of this seemed to fix the problem. The tray is full of water and there is plenty of water running over the plate. What is released to the grid is thin and patchy and there is barely an inch of "ice" in the bin. I am not sure if there is a sealed system leak or if it is cycling too soon or if the plate is not cooling adequately to freeze the water to the desired thickness. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello Michelle. Try running some ice machine cleaner WX08X42870 through the system. If the problem continues, and the coils under the bottom are clean and the fan motor is running, you may have a sealed system issue.
