Hello J.J., After power is turned off to the machine, the inner door panel has to be removed and the control board and door latch assemblies have to be removed form the inner control panel. Once everything is removed from the it, the screws retaining the control panel can be removed and the new one installed in the reverse order. As a note, any gaskets on the old control panel will need to be transferred to the new one if not present on the new part already.

James S. for Model Number GU980 SCGBO

The "Rinse Only" "Quick Wash" and "China" cycles have not worked in some time. It seems these cycle selector pads all stopped working about the same time (but am not quite sure of that.) Analogizing the problem I would have to conclude the problem is in the "Electronic Control". However, I hate to spend $129.85 for this part if there is a possibility that it is not the problem. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me regarding this matter. Thanking you in advance for your time and trouble. Sincerely, James S.

Hello James. Based on your description, it sounds like the control panel assembly WP8051710 is the problem. This contains the buttons for the cycles, and if the buttons are not responsive, this would be the problem. Hope this helps.
