Whirlpool WP8530929 Electronic Control Assembly OEM Part

I did some research online and figured out that I needed to replace the control module. I tried the other possible solutions first but they did not work. I ordered the part and it arrived in a few days. I had to remove the back panel on the door of the dishwasher with a screwdriver and Torx bit to access the module. Two screws held the module in place. There were numerous wires and plugs to change over. I did those one at a time to make sure I put them in the new module correctly. Once all the plugs were in place I screwed the new module in place. I had to also position a plastic cover over the module and a plastic cover on the back side of the soap reservoir. Neither had any fasteners holding them in place, just plastic fittings. I put the door panel back on with the Torx screws and tested it. Everything worked like new.

Ordered a new touch board. Removed inside dishwasher door, unclipped to inner board cover. Carefully unplugged all connectors and reassembled. Only needed a small torx driver, small flat screwdriver. Cleaned the inner door gaskets while repairing. Fairly simple job.

By replacing the mother board, we are back to normal operation. The hardest part was getting the plastic cover over the control panel off. Replacing the mother board was easy.

Replaced the control board for a second time. They last about 5+ years. Separated the outer door skin from the inner to access the controller.
