Don November 23, 2016 for Model Number JGS8850ADS Oven heats up fine and maintains temp. While baking sometimes the cooling fan will kick in and the oven still heats. Other times I get a F1 code during baking and after oven is shut down. All this happens after the oven is on a while. Key pad works fine, all though (red baking temp display only) is rather dim. Clock and other display seems write enough.
1 Answer Hello Don. You will need to order and replace the control board WP74007217 on the unit. Read More...
Jon November 14, 2016 for Model Number JGS8850ADS Have whirlpool JGS8850ADS range. Started beeping and malfunctioning showing error code F1-8. Repair man tested separating touch control from clock then a F1-7 showed up. He replaced clock assembly put together tested unit running a combination of different oven operations bake, broil, convection, dry etc... for an hour and 15-20 min. just fine. Unit went back into F1-8. He also noted the cooling fan (upper right corner rear) never came on to circulate air over electronics. Tested fan motor and associated wiring found it all good. Now unit shows F1-8 and F1-7 when touch pad ribbon is disconnected. He also cleaned contacts on touch pad ribbon. Should he try a touch pad now? Thanks Jon
1 Answer Jon, Yes, you will need to replace the WP74005739 control panel assembly (blk). The error codes: F1-8 Shorted key (pad) in membrane switch. F1-7 Membrane disconnected, indicates that the keypad is the problem area. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks, Read More...

Heidi April 25, 2014 for Model Number jgs8850ads We have a Jenn-Air range where the control panel sticker is peeling off. The panel itself and is fine and doesn't need to be replaced, but I am looking for a new sticker for the panel. Can I order one of those?
1 Answer Heidi, Unfortunately the sticker cannot be replaced on the control panel and the panel itself would need to be replaced. The part number for the control panel is WP74005739. Read More...
Kent December 13, 2012 for Model Number JGS8850ADB Electrical Display / Control panel does not work. Over 3 years, we have replaced the touch pad twice. The clock is the only part still working, but cannot be changed since the touch pad and controls don't work. Gas stove top works fine. Oven is electrical and does not work since control panel is broken. I took off the Control Panel and there were some broken contacts. I see they sell the Control Panel (only the metal part). Where can I get the electrical part that is behind it? Thanks.
Joe M November 12, 2012 for Model Number jgs8850adb Got an error code f 1-7. I replaced the clock harness but unit is still is not working. Someone suggested replacing the control panel. There is no wiring to the control panel. Why would that cause a code error??
1 Answer Hello Joe, Here is a way to find out if it is the clock assembly WP74007217 or touch pad WP74005739. F1 touch pad / ERC test This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present. Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock). Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing. Gain access inside the control panel. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was. Turn the power back on. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound). If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad. Read More...
Kyle November 12, 2012 for Model Number JES9800ACW Hello again, I am continuing with my first question sent, by mistake, before I finished. So, after I replaced the control panel assembly for my range, now I am getting a F-1 error message and a lots of beepings BUT ONLY after I am using the oven. I can use without a problem the cooktop and all the buttons on the touchpad are working. Any idea what's the problem and what part needs replacement? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Kyle. If the control panel is new, you will need to order and replace the control board on the unit. Read More...
