Could I, conceivably, adapt a fill drain hose for a portable dishwasher to a portable washing machine? My 2 main concerns are these: how does the fill hose know when to cease drawing water? (The fill hose currently used by my washing machine seems to be just a hose.) and 2nd: is the drain hose just activated by the pressure of the water draining out from the machine? (Again the current drain hose seems to be just a hose.) I will not hold you responsible in any way for my possible experiment's results, I am just curious to get an idea if this is even something I could toy with the idea of doing! Thank you!

Without it the water leaks at high pressure out of the connection at the adapter. I have read many questions about this tiny ring having broken or missing. But the manufacturer only sells the entire fill / drain hose assembly at $75 - $85 a pop. What a racket. What a sham. Does the new fill/drain hose assembly have that same plastic ring inside? Or have they corrected the problem with the new assembly?

Sheila June 24, 2014 for Model Number DP8700XYN0 Do you have the O ring/gasket that fits inside the hose assembly that attaches to the faucet? The one on mine has a crack and a small chunk missing on it. It leaks when attached to the faucet. Even if there is a part number for it I would surely appreciate it. That is the only problem with the hose. Thank you
