For Whirlpool Range Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18059724)

Jeff for Model Number YMER8800FZ0

The baking element went on my oven. I replaced it with the proper part number element. When plug back in the display shows M266 E255-249 before going to the clock set. The oven is now very slow to heat up…2 hrs to get to 255-260 degrees. Broil function does not seem to function properly either, meaning does not heat up quickly ( the broil element seems fine and no need to replace ). Does this mean a relay on the control board may be not working? Will the whole control board have to be replaced?

1 Answer

Hello Jeff, when the bake element failed it likely damaged the control board internally.

Hello Jane, the broil relay is sticking closed in the bake mode (control board cycles between bake and broil elements in bake mode), the control board WPW10340323 needs to be replaced.

Joe, For an oven overtemperature issue, you would want to test the oven sensor WPW10181986 first and make sure that it has a resistance of 1090 ohms at room temperature. If this checks ok then the control board WPW10340323 will be the issue.

Hello Brad, it sounds like the relay on the control board is staying stuck not cycling the broiler. Hope this helps!

Mark, With there not being any fault codes and the oven sensor being good then this would most likely be caused by a faulty control board.
