This unit does not need a filter bypass plug to dispense water without the filter in place, there is no way to turn off the replace filter light without a filter though. If the current OEM everydrop filter does not resolve the leaking issue it is possible you will need to replace the filter head W11482384/W11482384.

Hello Robert, thank you for contacting Appliance Parts Pros. You should be able to just remove the filter, this model should not need a bypass cartridge to dispense water without the filter in place. The Replace Filter light will remain lit if there is no filter in place, but should not impact the operation of the unit otherwise.

Ken, the filter would be reset by pressing the Options button, then press Lock to initiate the reset, then press Measured Fill to confirm the status light reset. However, this will not permanently turn off the indicator as it will illuminate the reset filter around the normal time a filter would need to be replaced.
