Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Water Line Union (Part Number: OEM18027879)

1 Answer

Hello Daniel, You will push the water line into the fitting and while holding pressure against it, push the ring around the water line the same direction. While holding the ring against the fitting, pull the line out. Before re-installing, make sure there is no ridge formed in the water line about 1/4 inch from the end of the line. This will prevent the fitting from sealing. To correct this issue, use a razor knife the cut the water line even with the ridge. To re-install, push the water line into the fitting until it bottoms. Push even harder and it will pop in about another 1/4 of an inch. To seat the fitting, pull on the water line without touching the ring around the water line.

Hello Kala. For this coupler WP4373559, you will press the 5/16" line into the large hole until it locks into place and then press the 1/4" line into the small opening until it locks into place. These are compression fittings. Hope this helps.
