Rita for Model Number 665.13153k701

I pulled up the Float W10077871 and after resistance it pulled out but the push nut or knob that was on the end is no longer there. The stem does not appear to be broken. When I replace the float I can feel behind the switch plate and there are no loose pieces. When the float is raised and lowered I can hear the switch activate. I have also run a quick cycle successfully. Is it necessary to have the knob (push nut) on the end of the stem for the float to work correctly? Thank You

1 Answer

Rita, Don't worry, Yes, the float and float switch will still work properly. The Knob or push nut was replaced by a flat rubber washer with a small X cut in the center. That part has been eliminated, over the last few years. As long as the float and switch assembly are clear of any obstructions or debris, you'll be fine.

Hello Enninme. You will need to remove the kick panel and unsnap the cover on the float assembly. Then make sure the end of the float is out of the way. Lift out of the inside of the tub assembly. Be sure to turn the power off before reaching into this area because 120Vac is on the switch.
