Richard December 20, 2023 for Model Number Whirlpool Mod#WRT318FZDW02 with a W11517113 Icemaker. The refrigerator came with the icemaker already installed, which, BTW, has worked flawlessly for years until about a month ago when it started leaking water from the bottom of the ice tray into the ice bin, creating a 5# block of ice. Is there a fix for the leak or do I need a new icemaker? Thanks in advance...
1 Answer Richard, With the unit leaking under the mold then this will require the icemaker to need to be replaced. Read More...
Willy October 21, 2023 for Model Number EV171NYMS05 I have an automatic ice maker and the tray seems covered with brownish calcified material that is chipping and getting into the ice cubes. How do I remove this material or should I replace the entire tray? If replacing, can I just replace this ice making part? The official Whirlpool part is a full kit, W11510803. Whirlpool does not sell just the ice maker. I see a different ice maker part on AP for Whirlpool also, AP6016628, which looks exactly like what I have. Will that work? Label under the cover of my current ice maker says 185W. 120V/60Hz. Appreciate your help!
1 Answer Willy, You would need to replace the icemaker for this unit and the icemaker WPW10190965 should work for this model. Read More...
Jp Varelli August 27, 2023 for Model Number ice maker W11517113 Do I turnoff the water supply before removing the old ice maker, and installing ice maker W11517113?
Lyn July 13, 2023 for Model Number WRT311FZDWOO We recently bought the ice maker kit and installed it. W11517113 however the ice maker is filling really slow. We think there is a pump that must pump the water up to the ice maker. Could it be clogged? I can't find it as a part. Is there one? We want to try to clean the line but don't know how it operates. Please advise There is nothing in the book that came with the ice maker showing the water line.
1 Answer Hello Lyn, there is no pump just a water valve, slow fill is usually a water pressure or water flow problem to the ref from the house's cold water plumbing, the ice maker needs a good flow of water with at least 35 psi pressure when filling, likely causes are low water pressure at the house or a self-piercing saddle water valve which is usually inadequate for proper ice maker operation. Just a quick note water pressure gauges are available at home improvement stores in the plumbing section. Read More...
Bjorn May 01, 2023 for Model Number wrt318fzdw09 Does the EZ Connect kit w11517113 come with the ice bin too?
Sheryl April 27, 2023 Received our replacement ice maker and watched the install video which was very helpful. Following his directions we unplugged the refrigerator and took our the old ice maker with no issues. We then installed the new part and plugged in the refrigerator again. Following the installation manual that came with the part it noted how to start the ice maker. We have tried to rotate ejector fingers with light pressure in a clockwise direction BUT they do not move at all. Are we doing something wrong? Please address this asap as the new unit now has water in it and is freezing the ice. Than you
1 Answer Sheryl, You will not want to try to rotate the fingers as this can damage the icemaker. After installing the part allow 24 hrs to make ice. Read More...
