Hello Steven, Unfortunately, the knob and the "backing plate" are sold as one assembly and are not available individually. This is how the manufacturer decided to make them available so, we can only sell them this way.

So I have the same problem as Tracie with the broken knob and the answer she got was not helpful. First of all, if you DO have the 2 broken parts, gluing them together is not going to work. One twist and the parts will come apart. And in the photo on your website, it is NOT apparent that the shaft is part of the knob as is stated by your "expert". Other parts websites indicate that the knob part slides on the shaft. The comment "other than purchasing the complete assy" is less than helpful. What would the "complete assembly" be pray tell? Is there a part number for that you would like to share? The black plastic that is part of the broken shaft has a number on it, but that yields nothing on a part number search. So the question remains: if the black plastic shaft is broken, how can that be removed and replaced to install a new knob? Thanks for your help.

Hi Tracie. The knob part # WP8574964, shaft is pre installed in the user interface part # WP8574920. Other than purchasing the complete assy., if you have both parts you can try to glue the 2 back together. Thank You.
