This Timer Knob is an OEM part for Whirlpool washers. It attaches to the washer timer and allows users to select different wash cycles by turning the timer to the desired setting. Its sturdy construction ensures accurate timing and ease of use throughout the washer's life.

The most common causes of a faulty timer knob include general wear over time due to regular use, physical damage resulting from mishandling or impact, and internal stripping of the knob teeth that can make it difficult to engage with the timer shaft.

Color: Gray

Symptoms of a faulty timer knob include:

  • Difficulty turning the timer
  • Inability to select or change wash cycles
  • The knob spins freely without adjusting the cycle setting

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello George. The color of the clip does not always match, but if you look at the timer picture WP21002232 you will see the green clip that needs to be removed to replace the timer knob WP21001985. You need to make sure the knob is pressed in, and pull out the clip on the back of the timer to remove the knob. If your clip is a different color, it will still need to be removed to replace the timer knob. Hope this helps.
