I need new surface control knobs for my 20 year old Jenn Air gas top. The knobs that arrived fit the opening but they are too short. The knobs on my cook top are pushed down to ignite the burner. The new knobs are too short to push down. The old knobs had some red color on the knob. The new ones just have gray. Where can I find replacement knobs for my stove?

Nancy, The WP71001641 / WP71001641 Top Burner Control Knob are the correct parts to order for both versions of the model number you supplied. they should work on your gas cooktop. You may need to check and make sure the escutcheon/control panel is properly seated and secured to the cooktop. Also check to see that the manifold where the burner valves attach to the base of the cooktop hasn't come loose or has distorted, and lowered the valve(s) and manifold.

Do they have replacement knobs that are not plastic and melt? The knobs that melt are 71001641. Got any metal ones that fit?

JD, Unfortunately we would not have a comparable knob in metal for this unit.

Purchased a propane Jenn Air Cook top and grill in 1993. The knobs have changed shape from the heat, We would like to replace all four. The shaft of the knob extends three quarters of an inch below the top surface and has a small pin insde the half moon shaft opening about a half inch from the end. The knob pushes down to turn the gas valve on.

I have a GE gas cook stove and I have problems with the burner knobs opening accidentally when someone brushes against them. Is there some some way I can increase the resistance (opening) ? Perhaps an additional spring?

Hello Russell. Sorry, there is no way of doing that. It may need the valves replaced on the unit.

I need 4 burner knobs and 4 burner plates. it says Whirlpool, are these used for Jennair too?

I want to replace 5 burner knobs. The cooktop has 4 burners and a grill so a total of 5 knobs in black is what I am looking for. Any info you have would be great. Cooktop works from a pilot, not electric ignition. Margaret

I have replaced knobs 2 times in 12 years. The heat breaks down the plastic. Do they offer this which has the "d" shape holes in metal?

Hello Tim, The only knobs that we can say for sure will fit and have the indicator pointing in the correct direction are the ones listed for the model in question. Any other knobs that may work would have to be tried to see if they are compatible since we have no way to tell without trying them on the unit.
